Frequently Asked Questions about Prescription Eyewear

• Can I get any Fuse frame style with prescription lenses?

  Yes! Most current Fuse frame styles are available to customize with prescription lenses.

  Choose your favorite Fuse frame and customize it with prescription lenses made specifically for you. One-piece shield-style frames are the exception and are not currently available for prescription lenses.

• I don’t know my prescription right now. Do I need it to order new prescription glasses or sunglasses?

  No! You can place your order now and provide your prescription information afterward.

  If you don’t have your prescription handy, simply place your order and we’ll send you a reminder email with instructions for providing your prescription information. Your order will be ready to process once we receive the necessary prescription details.

  Please note, we do require that a valid prescription be provided before we start custom creating your prescription lenses.

• Do I need to send in my frames for complete prescription glasses or sunglasses?

  No. You do not need to send in your own frames when ordering complete prescription glasses or sunglasses from Fuse Lenses.

  Simply choose a frame from our selection and provide your current prescription. We'll make and install your prescription lenses in the frame you selected.

• Other places won’t take my prescription. Will Fuse Lenses be able to?

  Yes, Fuse Lenses specializes in high-prescription lenses and will often create prescription eyewear that other labs turn away.

  We create prescription eyewear for a wide range of prescriptions, including higher prescriptions. Keep in mind that there are limitations or best practices when ordering lenses with higher power.

  If you have a higher prescription or aren't sure whether your prescription will work with a particular frame, contact Fuse Support before ordering. Our team will be happy to help find what works best for you!

• What lens options are available for my Fuse prescription glasses or sunglasses?

  Fuse Lenses offers a variety of prescription lens options, including clear, tinted, polarized, photochromic, and color-enhancing lenses.

  You can customize your prescription glasses or sunglasses with different lens colors, lens types, and materials to fit your needs.

  Prescription lens material options include:

  • Polycarbonate: Our most popular prescription lens material, offering a lightweight and impact-resistant option.
  • Trivex: A lightweight, premium material with high-quality optics and impact resistance.
  • High-Index 1.67: Our thinnest and lightest prescription lens material, recommended for higher prescriptions.

  You can also choose single-vision or progressive prescription lenses where available. Prescription sunglasses are available with both polarized, non-polarized, and color enhancing  options

• Do I need my pupillary distance (PD) to order prescription glasses?

  Yes. Your pupillary distance (PD) is an important measurement used to properly position prescription lenses in front of your eyes.

  Your prescription may list your PD as a single measurement or as separate measurements for your right and left eyes.

  If your prescription does not include your PD, you may be able to obtain it from your eye doctor or measure it using an appropriate method. If you need help determining which PD measurement to enter, contact Fuse Support.

• How long will it take to receive my prescription sunglasses or eyeglasses?

  Prescription lens orders typically take 10–15 business days to process.

  Every pair of lenses in your Fuse prescription glasses are custom crafted, colored, and cut for your prescription. This process typically takes around 10-15 business days after we receive your script.
  

• Does Fuse Lenses accept insurance or HSA/FSA for prescription lenses?

  Fuse Lenses accepts FSA and HSA funds!

  At this time, Fuse cannot accept insurance for prescription orders. However, Fuse Lenses does accept both FSA and HSA funds. 

  Because Fuse Lenses is an independent lens provider, we’re able to offer prescription lens options and lower cost pricing directly to customers without requiring vision insurance.

• Can I order prescription glasses or sunglasses internationally?

  No. Fuse Lenses currently does not process prescription eyewear orders for international customers.
