What are Color-Enhancing lenses?

These are lenses that use filter tints, coatings and even polarizers to manipulate various bands in the color spectrum, which affects how we perceive colors as a result. These have a similar look and feel as Fuse Lenses’ other lens colors, but with much more clarity and emphasis on the colors you’re viewing.

Making Colors Pop

One method of using coatings is in the use of bandpass filter technology. These are coatings that reflect all but a specific wavelength of the spectrum through the coating. With Fuse Lenses’ AMP Color-enhancing lenses and the use of bandpass filters, there is a specific focus on the colors green and red, which are greatly emphasized while wearing these lenses.

How Do They Work?

Fuse’s Color-Enhancing lenses serve to filter out muddy wavelengths, maximizing the volume of colors seen by the wearer to create the highest levels of color resolution in their optical-grade lenses. This is measured by a Color Resolution Factor (CRF) which shows the number of distinguishable colors transmitted from optically resolved visual details. This is then measured by a Color Accuracy Factor (CAF) which relates to higher-quality contrast and determines the accuracy of colors transmitted. In short, CRF is related to high color contrast and CAF relates to high color accuracy, these work hand in hand to ensure the best possible view of colors through these lenses.

AMP Color-Enhancing Lenses and Their Measurements

Fuse Lenses’ AMP Color-Enhancing line of lenses currently includes 4 different color tint options including Grey, Carbon Mirror, Brown and our newest addition to the line, Glacier Mirror. Each of these lenses provides the same crystal-clear view, with their claim to fame being the ability to boost color saturation. Colors are noticeably more vibrant while wearing AMP lenses, but don’t take our word for it... try them out for yourself!

CRF & CAF

When it comes to the measurements of AMP lenses, they fall into two categories: CRF and CAF. When measuring how effective our color enhancing lenses are, we break them apart by base color. AMP Grey, Carbon, and Glacier are all produced using the same base lens which has a CRF of 133%, while AMP Brown has a CRF of 123%.

AMP Grey and Carbon have a CAF of 99%, this percentage CAF certifies that AMP lenses preserve color accuracy, which also ensures depth perception and allows for visual comfort too.

What makes Fuse’s Color-Enhancing Lenses stand out?

Fuse Lenses is the first of its kind when it comes to having color-enhancing lenses maintain their white point. This means the color white is true to life and isn’t given an off-white or unnatural tint, however the color-enhancing properties are still able to boost other colors in the surrounding area.

The power of AMP doesn’t stop there though, not only are these lenses proven to add vibrancy and crispness to colors, but they also make for a great, versatile option for just about any outdoor activity. Here at Fuse Lenses, we don’t believe in having to sacrifice wearability or comfort in your eyewear just for the sake of liking the color pay off they offer your vision. That’s exactly why we’ve ensured that our AMP Color-Enhancing lenses have fine-tuned performance properties and are favorable for an everyday option for comfortable eyewear.

You can’t go wrong by choosing all the enhancements that come with our AMP Color-Enhancing line, everything is more beautiful when you’re wearing them!
